CAPE TOWN - Former diplomat Ebrahim Rasool has warned that the US and Israel should not be allowed to flout international law.
As bombs continue to fall and rockets and missiles are being launched in the Middle East, Rasool says US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must be stopped to avert more chaos and destruction.
“If we do not stop Trump and Netanyahu at this moment, the world will get into deeper danger and chaos. We have seen the chaos of health cuts across Africa; we have seen the trade destruction with tariffs and now we are seeing the destruction of countries. We cannot allow the rule of law to be flouted,” Rasool warned.

In a statement on Sunday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned Saturday’s joint Israeli and US attacks on Iran and the Iranian retaliatory strikes on Israel and the Gulf Regions.
Guterres said the military escalation undermines international peace and security.
The UN Chief called for an immediate end of hostilities and de-escalation and warned that a failure to do so risks a wider regional conflict with grave consequences for civilians and regional stability.
